I just have a few questions about my class...
Whats the best spec as of recently for pvp?
what profession is the most beneficial?
How do i survive as a lock in battle!?!
finally, is drain life worth using in combat?

First of all keep in mind you can have 50 characters on your account. If you don't like the lock you can make something else.

My lock is 85 and Demo. Affliction is best for PvP So far as professions we have Tailoring and Jewelcrafting. If you're new with no other toons for support I would suggest you take herbing and either mining or skinning until level 85.

Your best course of survival is 'FEAR'. Use it and use it often. You're a clothie so you're still going to die, but if you time your fears right you should be able to keep that to a minimum.

In PvP yes, use your drain life after you have dotted the player up. Dot, dot, fear, drain life....DEAD.
