I've been killing myself with different specs and combos,and I read like 5 guides top to bottom but some people say this,and others say something different,and then I have no idea what to go for!

I want an effective combo that works fine for any class,no complications. I don't want to win all the time,I just want to win MOST of the time haha. So please,if you're an experienced Rogue player tell me,what's your secret? You constantly get behind your target to gain advantage? You have a repeatable combo that keeps your opponent stunned? You focus on DoTs and such?
