Ok, so i have a level 12 gnome rogue with engineering and mining profession. i had the subtelty spec, and i liked it. WHen ever i dueled players, I could always win. Then i tried raids, and i am sooooooo bad at it. I see other rogues stealthed and then they come out and in one or two attacks the person is dead! how do they do it?

Ahh, the rogue, my first love. Well, you're not putting out any DPS in dungeons because your not getting a stealthed attack on every enemy. For instance if your tank pulls 4 mobs you only get a good hit on one of them (ambush). Combat is best for leveling hands down. Assasination is ok, but I'd stick with sub if you want daggers. Just in case you'll go combat, you want one slow weapon in your main hand (left weapon slot) and one fast weapon in your off hand(right weapon slot). A 'slow' weapon would carry a speed of about 2.50-2.80 and a fast weapon would be about 1.30-1.80. Just make sure you have a Sword/mace/axe in your main hand. A dagger in your off-hand slot is acceptable.

Well if you're level 12, I assume you mean 'Instancing' not 'raiding'. And at such a low level, you quite frankly have to make choices. Do you want to be great at PvP (win all your duels and be a monster in battlegrounds) or do you want to pawn in PvE (have insane DPS in instances).

Once you hit level 40 you'll be able to duel specc and have one of each But until then, you got a choice to make buddy.

You've got a long way to go buddy, it is not really important if you are a level 12 rogue and you can't do anything, try to level up and get your spells and talents upgraded, you'll also need a good gear, I don't think you can have any actual important thing in your inventory.

1. you cannot even do your first raid until lv 60 which are vanilla raids.

2. Subtetly is a PvP spec. that doesn't mean people can't own in PvE with it but it is VERY good in pvp and less good in pve due to it's skills and what pve offers.

Assassination is a 1v1 type of spec really do more dps on a Boss fight rather then trash fight.

and the other spec which i already forgot it's name.. since no one is barely playing it is the PvE spec that can AoE tons of shet down and still be decent in boss fights.

3. MAKE SURE U HAVE POISONS ON AT ALL TIMES WHEN FIGHTING.. you must buy these poisons their are ALL sorts for different occasions.

4. MAKE SURE YOU ARE USING THE RIGHT EQUIPTMENT!!!. rogues wear ONLY leather items NOTHING ELSE. with agility, stamina, and hit/crit until later lvls. as for their weapons it all depends on your spec. i think assassination and subtetly use a 1.4speed dagger offhand and a 1.6/1.8 speed dagger in mainhand this is mainly because of posion applying. as for the other spec that i fail yet to remember you use i believe a 2.4 speed in your main hand. more then likely this is usually a mace/sword not a dagger and your offhand is a dagger idk what spedd maybe 1.6 AGAIN you want AGILITy, crit, hit raiting till later lvls!!! NO INT NO THING ELSE!!!

5. you are a gnome rogue; this class isn't really the best race to be a rouge. their racials ( race spells ) arn't very good for meele classes they are more of a caster class. people pick them for looks which doesn't matter at all too but other pick um for racials because even though it's a veryv ery very tiny boost it still helps their DPS. you can choose to stick with it or make a new one it's up to you basicly it's Looks over Damage or Damage over looks.

the best rogue classes i suggest for PvE rogue is.. Worgen and Night elf and for PvP a human. again these race boosts are TINY.. only like 1% boosts not that big to cry about.

6. at love lvl MOST rogues have full heirlooms which is special gear bought by pvping a lot, easy to get at lv 80-85 but it is also useless at lv 60+ because you find better stats on other items.

7. learn your rotation on skills. rotation is EVERYTHING to your dps you can have the shettiest gear in the group but if your rotation is awsome you will out dps everyone else. and by shety i mean subpar not like ridiculous shetty gear such as intelect.

8. ALWAYS ATTACK FROM BEHIND. a rogue NEVER attacks upfront they always get the @ss of the monster as if you were to mount it with your p3nis and buttfk it. anything else will drasticly fk your dps up.

pretty much you seem new to the game so dont worry about it later as you lvl you will get the hang of things i strongly suggest you look at this site it will help you with EVERYTHING... from gear.. to stats.. to rotation for your class to glyphs to talent tree's w.e u name it it helps you big time.

also the people you are probably checking out are more then likely OVER geared people in heirlooms. a regular geared person can take something out that fast but not really in just 2 hits at your lvl. 1 thing you must learn is that you should NEVER depend on your gear to do the work for you like over geared people ALWAYS know your rotations in fights, mechanics in boss fights etc..etc.. this helps big time at lv 80+ especially in raids and heroics
