So i started a trial account on World of Warcraft, i made an undead rogue. I have played WoW before this but i couldn't pay anymore so i decided to make a trial. So i have never tried a rogue before therefore i wanted to of course. So here is my question: is the rogue ability "Ambush" good? I just unlocked it (im level 8) and it isn't really doing much damage. I first tried it with 2 swords that do 2.6 and 2.4 damage each, and ambush did 27, 29, 28 damage (i tried it a couple time.) Then i read more in detail about ambush and it said it was best used with a dagger. So i switched with the first dagger you get (0.9 damage) and it was doing even less (23,22,24.) I was in a battleground the other day on my other character and they said that the rogue's ambush "is basically overpowered at our level" (i was level 12in the battleground i was in when they told me.) So is there like a talent tree branch that does more damage or something? The main reason i created a rogue was to try them because i heard they were really good, but so far they aren't really. Please tell me what should i do, wait for the talent trees? Wait for a better dagger? Or just pick another class in general? Also please don't give me a link, give me an answer, Thanks in advance!!

It's how I begin just about every fight. The rogue is the only class that can sneak right up behind somebody and attack without being seen. Use it.

I don't know what spec you are, but Ambush is best for Subtlety rogues. If you're stealthed and you abush someone, that does sooo much damage. Also, I believe there is a glyph of ambush, but it just reduces the distance at which you can use it.

Rogues toss major salad. Ambush is one of the things that makes you toss that said salad. Rogue talent trees consist of assasination, combat, and subltey. Assassin is sort of a comb of combat and sub. Combat is more about basic hack and slash, and sub is more about steath moves (like ambush). In your position, i would go with combat, and when you get better at rogue, hit up sub. Either way, rogues rape, and you will find that out for yourself.
