About a year ago, a guild I joined had an EXCELLENT alternative to DKP to determine who got what loot from raids. The basic premise is that only one person would use the addon (usually whoever ALWAYS was in the raids). EVERYONE in the raid would enter "/random 1000" twice for their first run, the addon would then add/average/whatever the 2 rolls, making a private list. When a piece of gear dropped that was wanted, everyone interested would whisper "bid" to the addon user. The highest bidder on the list would get the item, and then get knocked down to the bottom of said list. This way, if one person was really undergeared, little would be lost from constant bidding on the less-desirable gear. Furthermore, it keeps the hard-core raiders from monopolizing on the drops with massive loads of DKP. If its any help, this system was implemented on Undermine Server, by "Forever United" guild about 1 year ago, used in Ulduar and Naxx. My new guild wants to use this, or a similar loot system, but Curse is making it hard to find, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
