Alright, as I'm kind of in your same boat, I've taken a look around and seen a couple of specs. I agree with you, and think that affliction might still be viable PvE wise, or even outdone by the other two trees.
First of all, imo, affliction obviously isn't viable, with us losing 2 dots, (Immolate and SL) and the ability to critically hit doesn't make up for the already somewhat gimped class we play.
As it seems, FG/Emberstorm or a heavy destruction spec seem to be much better now for PvE.
PvP wise, (I haven't played PTR), affliction might still be good. Combining siphon life and corruption, and giving us new talents through 2 points in Pandemic, and the new Malediction might make it so that you drop CoA, Corruption, and UA, and walk around while the other player cries.
Some raiding specs might be -
Heavy Destro - I'll be doing something like this:

Glyphs would probably be incinerate, Conflag, and immolate or imp (If you wanted to do testing to see if your immolate dot alone or imp did more dps, this would be good.)
A hybrid spec -

Personally, I don't prefer demo over destro. Your choice though, and Imo destro will be better.
You would need a lot of hit rating for both of these specs, due to not having suppression. However, you could shift a couple around such as taking out of demonic aegis, or something like soul leech if your raid has another source of replenishment. I however think that you should just take the hit rating. Depending on your current hit rating, sacking demonic aegis might actually be a good idea.
Those are the two most viable builds imo. I hope this helps :P
