World of Warcraft question: Discipline Priest in Cataclysm?
As a discipline priest, I am honestly dissapointed with the planned changes to the disciplie tree for Cataclysm. Blizzard wants to focus more on "making discipline a more viable tank healer instead of a shield spammer," but there are several things wrong with that idea.
-Firstly, discipline is already considered one of the best tank-healers for raids, are Blizzard just oblivious or something? We don't top the healing charts because we don't have to, our damage mitigation and shields are WHY we are capable tank healers.
-Second, the whole point of discipline is an improved, spammable shield with some weak but fast heals and good mana regeneration. We don't need improved healing abilities, we need improved shielding abilities, because that's the whole damn point of the spec. If a person just wanted to heal and not spam shields, then they shouldn't have rolled discipline in the first place.
-And lastly, i can understand them wanting to improve Holy for PvP, but it doesn't look like discipline will be good at PvP in Cataclysm because they're nerfing our shielding abilities. And what ever happened to improved mana burn?!
Does anyone think disc will be a good PvP spec come cataclysm? I mostly PvP as a disc priest, and all of these changes are starting to sound very dissapointing. They're completely changing our playstyle, which means all of the hours I spent levling my priest were pretty much wasted.
