I'm new to playing this game, and have a Draenei Paladin. I wanted to be able to tank, so my friends otld me to spec in Protection. However I'm not really liking it as much as I thoguht I would, I like being more of an offensive player, so I was wondering if I should have spec'ed in Retribution instead.

If you spec in retribution, can you still tank pretty well in dungeons? Also, can you spec one half in one tree, and one half in another?

okay, i'm now thinking i should spec in retribution for now. should i just fill up my ret tree, or work towards it, and then spec in prot with my remaining skills?
