My Wii has horizontal lines through it, why?

When my Wii displays in 60i it has faint horizontal lines going through the screen and you can faintly see doubling of the displayed text, it exactly like you get when your TV has bad reception.

I am really hoping it is not the issue of the GPU overheating as it has always had Wiiconnect24 enabled since I have had the console.
