Xbox 360 gets red ring of death periodically?

my xbox 360 works when I turn it on, and then after I started playing for about 30 min my screen goes blank and I have the 3 red rings. But I just turn my 360 back on and it works fine. This does not happen all the time, but it happens periodically. Is this something I should worry about?
