Default Need help with priest healing! wow 4.2?

Hey im starting my first healing toon ever, a gnome priest.. but im worried, when im in Dungeons (which is all i do) the priest really swallows mana. Even if all im useing is flash heal. it goes down pretty quick, and i wait until the tank is half health then Flash heal back to 100% health.. But i know i am really annoying the group with me saying "mana" mana" mana". I have yet to find a guide for lower level healing. I am level 25 at the moment Holy Priest. Any tips or tricks for lower level dungeon healing? would really appreciate it!

1. what type of priest are you. theirs only 2 viable spec's for a priest to be healing in dungeons+.

this is Holy and Disc. shadowpriest does major dps not healing but can offheal last minute if a must BUT SHOULD NOT.

2, disc priests usually just bubble the tank and use pennance thats about it later on you learn to utilize your other heals. USE YOUR SLOW AND SMALL HEALS FIRST. HoT's ( heal over time) as well. the spells with fast and short cast times are ONLY for emergency healing the ( oh fk healing way)

3. DO NOT OVER HEAL!!!; this is a major issue. say your tank has 80 health out of 100. and your heals do like 100 hp per heal DO NOT USE THESE HEALS. use a smaller heal if not a HoT that is low mana cost. Usually your spec move such as penance for example will heal a lot and cost about 0 mana. if you overheal a lot you will end up wasting your mana and overtime the tank will lose more hp.

4. holy is a good spec for dungeon healing. disc is a good spec for protection. basicly.. as holy you just bubble yourself ( if things are hitting you ) otherwise you just heal thats it. as disc you bubble the tank 24/7 and use penance for the most part and thats it. until later levels.

5. if you need mana it doesnt mean it's your fualt most of the time it's the tanks always over pulling or not even paying attention when your OOM; not to mention most tanks are undergeared low lvls and they want speed runs when they have shet gear as well as dps fails. u cant do a speed run if DPS dont have good gear and the tak has shet gear and isnt holding aggro you will just OOM and whipe but tanks are most likely selfcentered thinking they are the MOST wanted class so they are the big diks.

6. learn what type of stats you need. Every spec and class needs different stats. your OOM problem is either 2 things.

1. your rotation of heals are ALL wrong.
2. your gear probably sucks/is wrong.

you mostly need INT, and Spirit. as for stamania it is a bare minimum as for crit well that depends on your spec. spirit is the one stat that saves our ass during long fights. you want a lot of int and spirit as well as crit depends on your stats. but most likely INT and SPirit is your top stats as a healer reguardless of your spec. UNLESS your a resto shaman who need more crit then spirit.

PS- i also highly suggest getting a healing addon such as Healbot or Vuhdo. this allows you to macro ALL healing and buffs to your mouse alone and some keys and you will just use these clicks and keys on the special party frames that come with the addon. this makes healing a WHOLE lot easier. i use vuhdo because imho i find it easier to set up; literally play around with it for like an hour you will have it set up.

Flash heal is extremely mana munching. I am currently leveling a priest, 40 right now but was just 25 a few days ago. Always roll Discipline at the lower levels, it's a lot better with mana than holy. Only use PW:Shield and Heal (not flash heal, just heal). If somebody is going to die then that's when flash heal comes in, but always shield first. Most importantly, don't over-heal. This takes practice. It's ok to let somebody sit at 80%ish health.
