WoW: Mage spec, fire frost or arcane?
If you dont want to read all of this go to the last paragraph to get straight to the point.
Im a level 53 frost mage(dual spec arcane) and yesterday i tried fire and arcane both, fire seemed really good i crit a 1,370 on my friend who was dueling me to help me try out the stuff, dragons breath was cool and the thing where you go back up to 40% health and then burn seems really cool too. Arcane seems like good dps and has a lot of things to help conserve mana.
But after i tested out the spells i dueled my friend (who is a level 47 hunter) and he almost killed me when i was fire/arcane but when im frost i completely own him with icy veins and ice barrier, it seems like fire and arcane mages dont have a lot of survivability and there the sterotypical mages that people say get 2 shot in pvp and get ripped to shreds by everyone. My frost mage has a 100% chance to auto cast ice barrier with no mana cost when i go below 50% health and that saves my life a lot.
But to get to the point, was i doing something wrong with fire and arcane? do they just suck in pvp compared to frost or what? which spec do you think i should do?
