My main currently is a Hunter. He is level 85 and is currently raiding Firelands. However, I'm very much into PvP and Hunters are in a very bad spot there. Have been pretty much the entire game. Trap mechanics are bad and minimal range screws them over.

I've been leveling a Warlock for a few weeks now. Currently level 65. My guild has agreed that if I can get him geared up, I can raid with him instead of my Hunter. My question is, are Warlocks pretty decent in PvE and PvP? It's really the only other class I'd consider other than Hunter as I prefer to be range and I find Mages extremely boring.

I really enjoy the Hunter class other than traps and minimal range. I love being fast-paced and the burst damage. Would I be better off just staying a Hunter or leveling up the Warlock?

Warlocks are good for nuking, but no real defense, should someone (a rouge per say) sneak up on you. I think you would be fine as a hunter. Naturally knowing the race/Faction could be helpful...
