Hey I am a level 10 hunter and I was wondering which spec had the best dps now. I know that survival initially had the highest in cataclysm, but I think it got nerfed so whats the best now? thanks

I have a level 51 hunter specced in marksman and survival and I think they both pull nearly the same DPS, I have been using survival tho for PVP and doing well, but its good in dungeons as well because it has more attacks than marksman.

It's all up to which hunter spec you feel is most fun and which you're most comfortable playing with. All 3 specs (beast mastery, marksmanship and survival) are great for dps. You just have to know how to use the spec to its full potential. If you're a pet lover, beast mastery is nice. If you like an aspect of traps and survivability, survival is good and if you like to nuke enemies with shots, then marksman is for you. I'm personally a pet lover, so i went BM with my hunter. and the more i played in that spec, the better i got with it. Now, i'm lv85 and i'm always pulling top dps damage. In conclusion, the majority of hunters in cata usually go marksman or survival, but it's a matter of preference.
