...Spirit Healer? In the world of Azeroth when you die, you reappear as a ghost in the spirit realm in front of the spirit healer. They may resurrect you, or you may go to your body and be reborn. What is the reason for this in the back story of World of Warcraft? Is your hero touched by an epic destiny? Is it dumb luck? Or does everybody get this opportunity when they die in the world?

I know its a matter of game function, it would suck to have to create a new character. I just didn't know if there was a reason in the overall back story of World of Warcraft.
