First Healing class in WoW?

Hello i have a level 11 priest and she is the first healer i have made,ok so im a little confused about the talent builds, ok so im hoping to go with holy/shadow,so i can heal in dungeons but also be able to solo quests.is this the best way to go?
oh and im also a little confused about healing itself? what should do in dungeons to heal,best spells? thanks so mch
