Should the Yankees of the late 90's be credited with saving Baseball?
When Baseball was at it's darkest hour in the mid 90's everyone thought the sport could no longer recover.
Attendance was terribly low and having teams like the Braves and Blue Jays and Indians and Marlins in the World Series wasn't doing the sport any favors as far as television interest was concerned.
They say McGuire and Sosa saved the game in '98.
But I feel that the Yankees winning 4 titles in 5 years is the reason why baseball has boomed in the last 10 years.
People began watching baseball to hope and see them lose and they didn't.
