Harry Potter used to be my favorite series until I found God. I found in the bible where it says the things in the book are an abomination to God. I ignored it. I thought there was really no harm in the book it is just a make believe story about wizards. One day I was listening to Harry Potter on audio book and it dawned on me to ask God what he wants me to do. (should have been my first reaction but I was new to all this) He let me know without a doubt that it was not conducive to my relationship with him. I got rid of copies and audio books because it was going to be an obvious stumbling stone for me. Now I need a book to replace it .. one that I love. I have been trying to stick with christian authors so any suggestions would be wonderful.
I tried Frank Peretti and his books scare me to death! I don't like the demon stuff. I don't really want anything scary.
WOW - I have no idea people would be so sensitive about a question for a good book. I never asked anyone to not read it or tried to even get anyone to agree with me. I had no idea I would offend anyone or be insulted. I truely appoligize to those I offened and thank those of you who gave suggestions.
