I'm new to the game and to me a Druid seems pointless everyone tells me they are a good class because they are very versatile being able to dps, heal, and tank. But it seems like if you were going to make a rogue or warrior why not just make that class instead of being a Druid I would imagine the real class would be better could someone shed a little light on this for me? To me they seem like a Jack of all trades and master of none

Druid is a hybrid class meaning they can be in any situation. Druids are good healers and DPS. Not so much tanks. Druids are a pretty easy class to get use to and know how to play with.

Druids can do everything well if specced and geared well. They might not out dps a rogue or mage but they can do adequate dps and bring buffs and a rez to the group. I loved my druid when I played.

Druids, Paladins, and Shamans have always been the Swiss Army Knives of WoW, they bring very strong buffs, decent dps, decent tanking (for druid and paladin), very good heals from the paladin and druid, and in the case of the druid, versatility without switching gear.

A good feral druid can solo pretty much every quest from 1-85 and the paladin is close behind.
