In World of Warcraft, why do I always get the lowest honor points in Battlegrounds?

What criteria does wow use to decide how much honor you get in battlegrounds? 99% of the time I have 1-4th place in kills yet my honor is almost always significantly lower than my teammates'. My damage usually isnt so great though- is that it? I don't see why that should matter... anyone have any advice?

if it helps Im in the 20-24 twink bracket. Im very confused.
