Help w/ World of Warcraft Achievements?

I just started WoW about a week ago. I've been up to Level 7 in Night Elf, and I'm currently up to Level 4 in Human (haven't even played for a day). I have a trial account.

I was wondering, though.What level do you have to be to get a pet? I imagine 15 or so? And can I get one in a trial account? And how about a horse? And how do I get Achievement Points?
Yes, I'm a noob at this, lol.
By the way, I'm a Rogue.
